Kissimmee Balloon Festival
Take the short trip to Kissimmee for the Kissimmee Balloon Festival. The event is presented by The Balloon Glow Tour and is an outdoor event featuring tethered hot air balloon rides, bounce houses, local food and retail vendors, and more, with the main event being a balloon glow after dark. Preregistration is required and ticket price is based on a per-vehicle rate and includes parking.
Easter Brunch
You’ll get your chance to sample the many different tastes and flavors the Orlando area has to offer throughout your trip, but keep in mind many restaurants offer special Easter meals on the holiday. Whether you attended church services or not, many people enjoy a special Easter brunch or dinner. When you’re on vacation, you might not want to have to put together a large holiday meal in your accommodations. Easter at Disney
Spend some of your Easter respite in Orlando at Disney World. The parks are known for their holiday celebrations, especially the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Head over to Main Street in the Magic Kingdom to meet the Easter Bunny, or watch the Easter Procession or Spring Trolley Show. Hop over to Epcot and watch the kids participate in the Egg-stravaganza Scavenger Hunt at the park’s International Flower & Garden Festival. Many of the in-park restaurants will be offering Easter meals and treats, too.
Sea Life Orlando Aquarium
A fun alternative for when you want to avoid the crowds of Sea World, Sea Life Orlando is a marine wonderland. Its “chain style” exhibit structure guides guests around the facility so guests can get a glimpse of everything they want to see. Marvel at the marine life swimming all around you as you walk through the 360-degree underwater tunnel. You’ll see fish, turtles, eels, sharks, and more as you pass through. Visit a “touch tank” for up-close encounters with starfish and other sea creatures. Make sure to carve some time into your visit to watch a dive show where presenters dive into the tanks to perform demonstrations of all sorts. Don’t forget to visit the resident celebrity Ted the sea turtle, who is known for helping conservationists with their efforts to help wild sea turtles break free of nets with the unique Turtle Excluder Device.
Orlando Science Center
Kids may complain about educational stops like museums on vacation, but once they enter Orlando Science Center, they’ll forget about complaining. Watch shows at the 3D Adventure Theater or the Dr. Phillips CineDome. Explore exhibits featuring the beautiful Florida ecosystem, kinetics, the Earth and solar system, and more.
